Hi All,
|
Happy New Year! |
Who's up for a walk on Friday the 27th? I've not set the route yet but our destination will definitely be the Monkey Tree Pub. I'll let you know details of the walk as soon as I figure it out. |
Let me know asap if you can make it. |

In Memoriam |
We are sorry to report that Peter Adlem passed away on January 6th. |
The early skills passed on to me back then
have stayed with me to this day, and his classes
were probably the most enjoyable of any.

Mr. Peter Adlem |
I was very sorry to learn that our metal work shop teacher from Oak Bay had passed away. The early skills passed on to me back then have stayed with me to this day and his classes were probably the most enjoyable of any. I spoke with him about ten years ago by phone and had a great conversation. He retired after a major heart attack that he attributed to stress and went on to other ventures including a Mac Tools rep. I still have a few things that I cobbled together in grade seven that are still useful and actually work. The industrial arts shops at both schools were built at a time when money was no object and were considered to be some of the best in the country. At the time of our reunion, I happened to glance through the window of the woodwork shop in the old Junior High building to see the benches still there but all the tools and equipment gone and the facility in a very run down conditon. Thanks for the memories Pete. |

Memories |
I just looked at the photos from the 75th. Thank you for taking the time to put them up. Brought back, once again, a wonderful weekend and the opportunity to re-meet and make friends again. |
