Hi all. Just got this update from Doug as to his family and what he is doing. He also sent a very fine photo of himself (looks just like the guy we remember) which is now installed in our scrap book RG
Hi Richard.
Here is some updated information on me including what's happening in my life.
Marriage status: happily divorced. Children:
Mike, 38 years old. Manager in charge of division of Laidlaw Carriers major trucking company.
Kim, 36 years old. Insurance broker in charge of personal lines with a predominantly construction insurance company.
Grandchildren: Three ranging from 5 to 11 years old. Residence: Suite 408 1265 Ontario Street,Burlington Ontario L7S 1X8
Phone: (905) 681-3147
What keeps Doug busy:
Continue to sell records and cd's on ebay-have done this for almost 9 years after Eatons shut down (worked at Eatons for almost 32 years-general manager for 15 stores and latterly as manager of all store operations nationally).
I sell on ebay from Monday-Friday every week listing about 15 items per day. Weekends spent out looking for new stuff to list.I don't have any personal collection of my own but still have about 30,000 records to sell. Top sale was earlier this year at 2860.00 U.S.to a buyer in Peru.
This is a small business that I am running but certainly not enough to retire on.Just gives me some 'fun money'. Thankful that I had a good job at Eatons with a fabulous pension plan and pension surplus sharing.
Anyone wanting to look at my auctions seller id is doubled4. I ship all over the world so I have shipped to Victoria on numerous occasions.
Seem to be in good health but could lose some weight. Grey hair with some missing (where the hell did that go?). Recent photo attached (in class scrap book).
December 13, 2006 Christmas 2006 and the coming 2007
Dear classmates,
Thanks so much for all the chat this year! And for finding the jukebox. What a thrill...it takes me back to the sock hops at OBJrHS and OBHS! I can't believe that I can sing along to about 40 of those old songs (so far!).
It was good to catch up with some of you in person in May. Hope to get back to B.C. sometime in the next year or so.
Meanwhile, here's an email Christmas card hope you might all enjoy reminiscent of the kind of music we thrilled to a few decades ago! Click on:
