Things from the Fifties |
Hi All, |
Sorry I couldn't make the November walk but I did go and look for items from the fifties and found a string of pearl pop-it beads. Can anyone top that? |

Things from the Fifties |
Not sure if I can upstage you Judy. Somewhere there is a Pez dispenser from 1954, but I did have a trunk containing an assortment of childhood relics that was a regular time capsule that my mother inadvertently gave to the Goodwill in the early '60s. Among the many things were a few mint Superman comics, a Prussian officer's helmet, a rusted bayonet, a pair of pearl handled Hopalong Cassidy cap pistols and holsters (probably worth a mint on eBay) some native artifacts, two tiny palm sized water pistols that were a fad about 1955, a Crown Royal bag of marbles, a Daisy Red Ryder BB carbine, an autographed photo of Roy Rogers, a gold pan from the trail of '98, a fine example of shabby literature, a red Cheerio yo yo and scores of other oddities too numerous to mention. |

I'll be away from the computer for the next few days. Merry Christmas everyone Gary |
Tom was asking about our next get-together. I'd like to inform/remind everyone that Oak Bay celebrates its centennial on July 2, 2006 and will undoubtedly have many organized events. This might be a great time for us all to get together a very memorable trip for you out-of-towners. |

Season's Greetings |
Best of the Christmas season to you all! |
July '06 sounds like a far enough away target to be comfortable with! |
I have to confess that my version of IE 5 something is not comfortable with finding the class of 60 web site. |
Have hooked up with Newell Smith and Colin Marmo and a couple of friends from Malvern House school that used to be on Richmond between Oak Bay Ave and Brighton any others out there? |
Cheers, |
Mike

MELE KALIKIMAKA!
To all of you!! |
What a truly great bunch. |
I plan on returning to BC, for good in the summer of 2005. (and for my next visit in the spring of 2004.) Perhaps I can get together with some of you at that time. That would be fine indeed! |
Rob and Linda kindly called me when they were in Hawaii recently, that was lovely. |
All the best, to all of you. |

So far, we're loving it, but our son and family has moved to Oak Bay(!) and it takes as long to get there from here as if he lived in Eastern Canada. |
I met Norma (Dickenson) Roberts ('58) at a Club I joined. She's living in Sechelt. |

Season's Gretings |
Gary, thanks for your efforts on the webpage. It is a very nice resource. I managed to try to get on when it was down and was very disappointed but am real glad to hear it was only temporary. |
Best wishes for the new year and hope to see you about half-past 2004. |

Walk, January 2, 2004 |
Ho, ho, ho! Seasons Greetings all you gentle, well adjusted children of the 50s. |
Let's do our first walk for 2004 in Sidney to the Rumrunner Pub. Meet along Lockside where the seawall path begins. It's Bazan Bay outside Sidney. Look for the small parking lot at road level. It will be a there and back walk about 30 minutes each way. |
If the group is large we'll reserve by cell phone. |
Look forward to seeing you all at 11 am. |
