Hello from Denmark
Hi Everybody
Its been a while since the European Delegate has written here.
I retired more or less on my 60th which was Nov 2002 and I am fond of saying, it's the best job I've ever had. Kirsten and I have done a bit of travelling around Europe and last fall we were in Canada and USA and visited Tom and Irene Miles in Comox as well as Pat and Paul Lawrance in Santa Cruz. We were over there for a month and put 6500 km on our rental.
I've just come back from a bus trip with my bicycle to Lake Garda in the north of Italy. It is a nice area but there are a hell of a lot of steep mountain roads, but what manages to climb up, also comes down which is physically a lot easier. I try to keep my speed under 60 km/h, but with hairpins and traffic it gets kind of hairy.
Spring seems to have sprung here so the bike is getting lots of use. Our Easter is a 5 day weekend, and they forecast rain and bad weather. However it was glorious sunshine all the days which is not something that happens very often.
All the best,
Don

Ted Chamberlin
I have just received the following information from Sandy McKeachie.
This refers to previous email chat from Ron Spence regarding Ted Chamberlin.  Sandy recalls Ted who sat behind her in grade10 English with Miss Burridge, and I think all of us remember this outstanding scholar and athlete.
Ted is nominated for the Charles Taylor Prize in literary non-fiction this year which will be announced April 19th.
Sandy went on to say:
"I was at the website because another friend, Isabel Huggan, is also nominated. And I named her book! (See her foreword...)
Anyway, the gang might like to see the "citation" of Ted's book, and a picture of him which looks not unlike the way he did in Grade 10.
